Batman: the Brave and the Bold "A Bat Divided"

Here is last nights episode of Batman: the Brave and the Bold. I loved seeing Firestorm and the episode was great. Still it did leave me with some questions. I liked seeing Ronnie Raymond back but why use him instead of Professor Stein as the other part of Firestorm? You saw the Professor in the first few minutes so I was expexting him as part of the hero. Why use Dr. Echs instead of the Firestorm villian from Firestorm #1 Multiplex which was the same kind of charactor? Also, why have Batman's third personality be a slacker? Batman has always had a playboy side to him. I would have used that. While the other two were fighting you could have had him flirting with Catwoman or Poison Ivy. Instead he sits around eating nachos. No matter what it was still a fun episode.

I suppose you could argue that they couldn't use Multiplex because Multiplex was created in the original accident that made Firestorm. I assumed splitting Batman into three parts was the writer's homage to that -- instead of Multiplex you got Multi-Batman. (Though, yeah, Multiplex's different selves did not have different personality.)
And why was one Batman a slacker? They probably just thought it was funny. Don't forget, that while this show is greatly appreciated by adult fans, the target audience is kids.
