This has to be Haney at the peak of his madness/brilliance. I was collecting B&B at that time and, like Booksteve, don't remember this story at all. The sheer awesomeness of a story co-starring Bats, Rock and Haney might have been too much for me at that time. Thanks for posting this totally over-the top story.
I never heard of this book either till a few months ago. I looked for it since and when I found it I had to post it here. I too thoght it was strange. In one way they treated it like they (Batman and Sgt. Rock)were real but in another they treated it like it was just a comic book. If the villains of a story that you wrote came to life would you try to save the hero or not care becaused they aren't real? We will never know but I think i wouldn't care since they aren't real.
