Ok it has been awhile since I have done a random panel. Now it is rare these days to see Batman in such a vulnerable position but it has happened. Most of the time it seems that happened in the 70's and that is where this panel is from. A 1973 issue of Brave and the Bold. Now the one thing that always puzzled me is when he is in the hospital all the police, Doctors and Nurses seem to respect his privacy and leave his mask on. Are you kidding me? Someone had to take a look at his face when he was out. Why not show someone come in while the Nurse is trying to get the mask off?

I don't know, I kind of liked that people respected his secret. After all, he's done a lot for the city, and it wasn't just heroes who were better people in the Silver and Bronze Ages, it was average citizens, too. I grant you there's no one in comics now with an ounce of honor, though.
What didn't make sense in any age was that the *villains* never unmasked Batman after knocking him out (except Talia that one time, if she counts as a villain).
Of course these days, Batman's mask delivers an electric shock, or poison gas or something when someone tries to take it off. And they say modern comics are *more* realistic. Uh-huh.
