Last Episode of Smallville Review

Well the last episode of Smallville was last night and just as I expected it didn't live up to 10 years of hype. At best it was just so-so. We got to see the return of Lex Luthor and I read that if Michael Rosenbaum wasn't available then they would have had the story tell that Lex was the guy pulling the strings behind the scenes. Even with him on board for the last episode they should have done that plot. It would have been better then this over blown Darkside nonsense and having Lex as a clone. That was just a stupid part of the plot. Now I know I didn't see every episode of the series but when I last looked they had killed off Jimmy Olsen but there he was at the end working at the Planet. Nice touch at getting Michael McKean back to do the voice of Perry White at the end and yelling at a reporter "Great Ceaser's Ghost!"
Also we didn't get to see Mr. Welling wear the suit. We did get the iconic shot of hime ripping open his shirt to reveal the suit underneath and that was good but what we wanted to see was something like the shot above. Also, we didn't see Clark and Lois get married. They got to the alter but Chloe and Darkside stopped the wedding at the ring cermony. So they and the minister or the witnesses never signed the marriage license. No matter what ceremony you have if there are no signatures then there is no marriage. Also he has to put up a front at the end but calling Lois Miss Lane!!! Again did I miss something? Everyone knows they are better friends then that. If they do a spinoff I hope it has a better ending.

As someone who did watch every episode, I will fill you in.

Dardseid is what ultimately kills Superman, so it is a very important part of the charactor

Jimmy at the end is the brother of Jimmy. If you saw the episode where Chloe's husband died, he was the little boy there. They were pretty obvious that it was going to be that way.

The romance between Lois and Clark continues, they want to be together in marriage, but life gets in the way, that was the point. They are meant to be together, want to be together, but there is still the tension there 7 years later.

Lex was very well done I believe. The dialogue between Lex and Clark is very good in my opinion. It sets up what will happen. Lex had to be void of memories of who Clark really is, so the deal with Tess was good too.

If Clark had been in a Supes suit, people would have complained that it was either too much like this, or not enough of that. They did a good job, without committig too much.

I have been waiting for some real meat to the story, and it is finally here. I actually thought it was very well done, considering the amount of time they had. If they did a 3 hour, they could have had more, but oh well.

Thanks for the update Tom. For the last two seasons I missed some of the episodes. When I did watch half the time it was a rerun of an episode that I already saw so I would quit till I knew a new one was on. When you do that you sometimes forget to tune back in on the correct date and miss some. Knowing what you told me, parts of the last episode make more sense, espically the part with Jimmy. I must have missed that part where Tess got the power to make people forget cause I still don't get that part but you are right for the story to continue he had to forget Clark was the Blur/Superman. But I still think the episode was sloppy. An episode should not have to be explained to anyone who has missed any episodes.
