Cheetah Rest in Peace

I have been a long time fan of the old Tarzan movies. Especially the ones with Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan. One of the favorites of those old movies was his friend Cheetah. Recently it made the news tha Cheetah died in Florida at the age of 80. I'm not an expert on primates but to me that seemed awful old for a chimp to live. It was sad to learn that he died but it seemed strange to me that he lived so long as to be the last member of the original cast to pass away. I wasn't the only one to think this as this yahoo article http://news.yahoo.com/evidence-casts-doubt-claimed-cheetah-death-224332923.html points out other things that this may not be the original Cheetah. Other chimps played the part as well. The owner at his death inherited him from his Dad who got him from Mr. Weissmuller. I didn't know that Weissmuller ever owned the Chimp. Also, the owner says he is 51 and has known Cheetah 51 years but states Cheetah came there when he was 5 years old. Doesn't that mean he has known him for 46 years and not 51 years? This could be the real Cheetah or it could be that his Dad just told him that to impress his young son. If not those then it is just a stunt to boost business. No matter what Cheetah has passed away at some point. In his honor is the below cover gallery.
