My major problem with Pete Costanza was the disappointment inevitably generated by having his art behind the beautiful Swan/Klein or Neal Adams covers. But he wasn't a bad artist--his characters were certainly more fluid (if less attractive) than John Forte's, and I never had any difficulty following any storylines he illustrated; his stuff was quite readable, though I suppose Mort would have had his head if he were otherwise. It was just Pete's sorry lot to be ineluctably contrasted with the world's C.C. Becks.
Thanks again for posting more J.O. zaniness, even if it seemed a little forced this time--Dorfman certainly took us far afield for a story that merely returned us to square one.
